Advancing AR in the Circular Economy: DiCiM Workshop in Karlsruhe

Circular Economy Solutions GmbH (C-ECO), a partner in the DiCiM Project, recently hosted researchers from TU Chemnitz in Karlsruhe, Germany, for a hands-on workshop exploring how Augmented Reality (AR) can be applied to circular economy processes.

During the session, participants tested AR goggles with CoremanNet, achieving promising results in supporting sorting operations at selection stations. The collaborative trials demonstrated how AR can improve both efficiency and accuracy in complex disassembly and sorting workflows.

Pioneering AR Applications in DiCiM
The DiCiM team is developing next-generation AR glasses designed to transform value recovery processes across multiple sectors. Within Use Case 4: Automotive, this solution will play a key role in advancing sustainable and efficient resource recovery.

This workshop marked an important milestone for the project, highlighting the potential of AR to reshape value recovery and strengthen circular economy practices in both household appliances and the automotive sector.

Looking Ahead
Encouraged by these results, the consortium is preparing its next workshop for autumn, where the technology will be tested in a real-world selection station environment.
